In my introduction I mentioned web sites. This is good place to start, as far as time spent, you will get the most bang for your buck. First, there are two types of sites that I use. One is the club sites and the other commercial. Honestly, they all want to sell you something. Some sell radio gear; others a service or membership into the club. They all have one thing in common. They provide a wealth of information and, after all, we are here to learn.

Let me start with a few club sites. There are those for operating. Such as The Grand Daddy of Ham Radio clubs, The American Radio Relay League. This club site is big, and a wealth of information. Once you become a ham you may want to consider becoming a member if just, for a short time, to see if it is for you. There are many others that I will list later. Then there are local clubs you may want to join as well this is too long a list to put here in this little blog. I may add some paths to club sites in the near future.

There are other service sites that you may want to consider such as, QRZ or, QTH.com or Eham.net. Among others, these sites are excellent info sites that are well cared for and continually updated. These sites are free to use but it would be helpful to occasionally make a financial gift to those who provide this service. We all have to eat.

In my next post I'll write about. The license procedure and the dreaded test we all must go through.
So for now.73 KI5JB
